Terminology: Activated sludge respiration inhibition test

This test is designed to examine an impact of a test article on aquatic organisms by using activated sludge.

A test was conducted with activated sludge as test organisms to measure oxygen consumption by exposing it to Zeomic for 3 hours at 0.1, 1.0, 10, and 100mg/L concentration levels in a preliminary test and under selected conditions in the main test as per OECD Test Guideline 209 "Fish acute toxicity test." As a result, LC50 and the no-observed effect level (NOEC) were determined at 98mg/L and 32mg/L respectively.
