Sulfur reducing bacteria

Sulfur reducing bacteria are those such as desulfovibrio bacteria which have the characteristics of reducing sulfur compounds that easily proliferate in anaerobic environments. These bacteria convert the sulfate in sewage to hydrogen sulfide to create an environment where sulfur-oxidizing bacteria can flourish.
