Zeomic's odor-eliminating function
In addition to antimicrobial effects, Zeomic also provides an odor-eliminating effect.
The synergetic effect of the zeolite’s physical absorption of odiferous elements (physisorption) and the chemical absorption by metal ions (chemisorption) makes Zeomic effective on a wide range of odiferous elements.
When Zeomic is used in cloth, it provides the 2-in-1 effect of both “antimicrobial” and “odor-elimination”.
Zeomic's odor-elimination mechanism
Zeomic has an odor-elimination effect on a wide range of odors due to its physisorption and chemisorption abilities. It is also characterized as an agent with low re-emission.
Physical Adsorption
There exist an uncountable number of fine pores on the surface of porous zeolite and malodorous elements are reduced through a physical adsorption mechanism (physical adsorption).
Chemical Adsorption
Deodorizing effects are due to a chemical adsorption mechanism between the metal ions such as silver and zinc in zeolite and the malodorous elements.

Powder Zeomic's Deodorizing Effects
The deodorizing effect of Zeomic was measured for various malodorous gases.
Gases adjusted to a predetermined concentration were prepared. 6L of each of these gases were sealed into Tedlar bags with 1.0g of the sample and the gas concentration was measured using a gas detector tube immediately after sealing (within 1 minute), 1 hour later and 3 hours later.
Deodorizing Effects on Post-Processed Fabric
The deodorizing effect was measured in relation to various malodorous gases for Zeomic-processed fabric.

Zeomic's deodorizing function
By inhibiting the growth of bacteria,Zeomic also inhibits the gases generated by the metabolisms of bacteria,thus is anticipated to have a deodorizing effect.
