Terminology: Mutagenicity Test with Mammal Cells

The objective of this test is to examine if the mutagenicity that the test substance induces exists in mammal cells.

 [Test Method]
Mouse lymphoma cells L5178Y were used as test cells to assess whether thymidine kinase genes (TK+/-) changed into thymidine kinase absent genes (TK-/-) by observing genetic changes and quantitative evaluation.

[Test Method for Zeomic]
As a result it was determined that Zeomic had no mutagenicity (negative) as long as it manifested no cytotoxicity.
